Brunch just might be the favourite meal of us Yum Listers. Leisurely hours spent lingering over a mélange of delights, washing them down with a tipple or three and bottomless cups of coffee to go with – really, what is there not to like? KL has no shortage of places that put on a good weekend brunch and we seem to have no limits in our ability to indulge in them. We tried to narrow this list down to the Top 10 Best Brunches KL 2018 but there just was no way we could further cut back (a bit like our stomachs, perhaps – we do prefer a baker’s dozen) so here are our:
Top Thirteen Best Brunches KL 2018
(Click on the title links for full details on each, including menu, prices, more photos, location and reasons why we recommend you visit.)
Flock – Contemporary Australian menu with a focus on local artisans and sustainably sourced produce
Bella by BIG – Brunch with a Portuguese twist
Nero Nero- Grandmother’s Table – Not one but two Italian chefs!
Nathalie Gourmet Studio – An elegant brunch with a French theme
Kwee Zeen – Great buffet with free-flow wine and beer and an option for bubbly too (Mumm – a good drop and one of the few brunch spots in town to still offer Champagne)
Soleil – refined European meal with all of the mains made on the spot and served fresh to order
The Library, Ritz-Carlton Kuala Lumpur – Intimate setting, high-quality food and one of the few remaining that serve free-flow Champagne (another enjoyable drop, Canard-Duchêne)
Strato, Troika Sky Dining – Lovely views and gourmet Italian cuisine
Brasserie Fritz – A delicious brekkie menu and over a handful of stylised Bloody Mary’s (I challenge you to try them all?)
Mr Chew’s Chino Latino – Contemporary Chinese with a fun Latin vibe
Fat Olive Food Garage – Gourmet Spanish food presented beautifully
Drift Boozy Brunch – A good fun atmosphere – go with friends.
Mercat Barcelona Gastrobar Mont Kiara – A monthly event with cuisine from a different region of Spain featured each time.
Thirteen plus a bonus two? (Okay, so it’s fifteen! I miscounted and don’t want to change my baker’s dozen analogy above.)
Babe KL – For people who like to be surprised by a meal and have a good deal of fun while at it (we’re also rather fond of the Champers here with Perrier-Jouet the free-flow bubbly of choice)
Lisette’s Cafe and Bakery – so many delicious vegetarian options and so very reasonably priced. We really love this one.
