Chinese New Year 2021 Malaysia
Plant-based, Gluten-free Yee Sang
La Juiceria Superfoods caters to a healthy approach to Chinese New Year 2021 with their plant-based and gluten-free yee sang. Serving size is either Grande (catering to up to 10 pax) or Petite (2 – 5 pax) and comes together with cold-pressed juices. Find them here.
Prosperity Bowl & Bak Kwa
We love Skillet at 163‘s Prosperity Bowl with Abalone. This dish is inspired by lap mei fan – Chinese cured meat in a clay pot with rice. Skillet’s version uses Lawas Highland rice, which gives more of a chew to the bite and great aromatics. Cooked together with their house-made Bak Kwa, the sweet, rich flavours are infused into the rice. Fresh chives and spring onions brighten the top. Lastly, plump juicy abalones are added as a symbol of good fortune. Get yours delivered here.
A Little Farm on the Hill
The team from A Little Farm on the Hill, famous for their organic produce and house-smoked meats, are also delivering this year. We try their Smokey Lucky Ducky served with 20 pillow-soft buns, daikon radish pickles, farm-made hoisin sauce and spicy hot sauce. It’s plenty for four people and comes with instructions on how to reheat and carve it. This is perfect for us, but there are also add-ons available such as yee sang, cake and cookies or you can go The Full Monty and get a complete feast including it all. Further details and orders here.
Happiness Set – Chinese New Year 2021
Taking all of the labour out of Chinese New Year 2021 in Malaysia, the team at Four Points by Sheraton Kuala Lumpur has curated an eight-course feast in the Spring Happiness Set. We’re big fans of chef Gerald Chong’s cooking style – lots of fresh ingredients and no MSG. Highlights of the set are triple prosperity yee sang, baked cod and crispy 5-spice salt and pepper chicken. Order it here.
The Ox Box
The team at Gesuto provide a little twist on tradition with its Ox Box delivery especially curated for this festive season. Serving Japanese cuisine with modern European influences, the restaurant guarantees a meal that is both exciting and delicious.
Platters
For something fun and tasty, JO + KO have put together attractive CNY platters. The box includes cheese, jam, fresh and dried fruit, nuts, cookies, pastries, bak kwa and a mini bottle of Bottega Prosecco. They make great nibbles with drinks over a leisurely afternoon or something to pick on while awaiting the main affair. Check them out on Instagram here.

Seafood
Seafood Maestro delivers premium fresh and frozen seafood to your doorstep for those who like to be a little more hands-on. It’s some of the best quality we’ve come across. Check out some of their latest arrivals and Chinese New Year 2021 promotions here.
Chicken
Alternatively, or in addition to seafood, you might prefer chicken. We opt for Kampung Gold as it’s free-range and hormone and antibiotic-free. Not only have the birds been raised humanely, but we can also trust what’s going into our bodies. Place an order here.
Booze
Royal Salute has launched a Chinese New Year edition to mark the Year of the Ox. It features a vibrantly illustrated gift pack for the whisky’s 21-Year-Old Signature Blend. The bright red outer packaging tells an intricate story of the traditions of the spring festival, intertwining symbols of good health and prosperity to create the ultimate gift to share with loved ones to welcome the Year of the Ox.
