Aussie Meals & Family Sharing Sets

The Red Beanbag just launched some new Aussie meals offering a taste of Down Under in value-for-money sets. The promotion highlights are the meat pie and chicken parma, but the café’s ala carte menu is worth revisiting too.
Aussie Meals & Family Sharing Sets
As mentioned, the two Aussie Meals causing mouths to water are the RBB Ozzie Meat Pie (RM 26) and the Ozzie Chicken Parma (RM 30). The first comes in a well-founded, flaky pastry. Slow-cooked beef brisket simply seasoned with a few herbs and spices packs the shell to the edge. A thick wad of mashed potato comes on the side. To turn it into a True Blue meal, all that is needed is a big squirt of tomato sauce on top.
Coming as a bold, generous serving, Ozzie Chicken Parma (RM 30) contains boneless chicken thigh coated in Parmesan breadcrumbs. It’s pan-fried until crisp and moistened with a rich house-made tomato sauce. Melted mozzarella and cheddar add the finishing touch. It’s superbly tasty and well-balanced with greens and hand-cut chips.
The Red Beanbag Menu
From the ala carte menu, we take a healthy intermission with the Clean & Green (RM 12). Mesclun leaves tossed with avocado, pine nuts, orange wedges and black olives are dressed in a light lemon vinaigrette, cleansing the palate before moving back to some heavier items.
Much of the menu at The Red Beanbag seems to be ideal for post a big night out and prompts fond memories of late lazy mornings in Aussie cafes. The RBB Corn Fritters (RM 26) is a fine example with the deep-fried fritters dressed in sriracha hollandaise. Spicy avocado salsa, feta cheese, rocket and a sunny-side-up egg make for a flavour-packed plate.
Eggs benedict continue to evolve at The Red Beanbag, and now we have the Benedict III (RM 32). Chubby slices of fluffy French toast are layered with your choice of beef or turkey ham, kale, sauteed mushrooms, roasted garlic butter, a portobello mushroom, hollandaise sauce and two poached eggs. Smaller tummies might even find this order enough for two.
Continuing with the rich and sumptuous theme, the RBB – Reny’s Breakfast Burger – (RM 32) is fat with a juicy espresso-infused beef patty. A corn fritter adds to its weight, and caramelised onions, a sunny-side-up egg and a creamy coffee aioli deliver a satisfying mouthful.
The Red Beanbag Drinks Menu
You could easily continue along these wicked lines with The Red Beanbag’s Signature Iced White Coffee (RM 13). The base of espresso and milk is lushed up with whipping cream and pandan gula Melaka.
Alternatively, you might choose to balance such rich grub with a healthy Avo Shake (RM 16) of avocado, oat milk, chia seeds and honey, or a locally brewed Mango & Kaffir Lime Kombucha (RM 16) by Alchemy. Both – very nice.
Reasons to order some Aussie Meals from The Red Beanbag: find comfort in the meat pie and chicken parma; back them up with some selection of classics from the ala carte menu.
